PBS ‘Antiques Roadshow’ taping is coming to Connecticut this summer

I love Antiques Roadshow, the PBS television show that airs on Connecticut public television at 8:00 p.m. Monday nights.

If you’ve never seen it before, the show has been in production since 1997. It’s an antiques grading show where local antique owners bring their valuables to a venue and their item is rated by an expert as to which category the antique fits into. and the history and value of the item are discussed. The fun of the show is when someone brings what they’ve been through was a worthless heirloom that turns out to be very valuable, or a piece of junk.

Antiques Roadshow produced their show across the United States and they have filmed episodes in Connecticut in the past. Well, Connecticut Public just announced that the Antiques Roadshow will be filmed at the Wadsworth Museum on August 10th in Middletown, Connecticut. They are currently accepting applications if you have an interesting item that you would like to rate on their show.

This is a photo of the Wadsworth Museum in Middletown, and I can imagine the sweet sound of the clarinet and the Antiques Roadshow theme song when I see it.
