Firefighters fought a fire in Northwich for hours last night

RESIDENTS have been evacuated when firefighters spent hours fighting a fire in Northwich last night.

Four fire engines arrived on Linnards Lane, Wincham just before 10 p.m. after an outdoor fire was reported.

Upon arrival, an outbuilding was found that is understood to be a shed.

One social media user said he could see there was a Mow Cop fire.

There were no reports of injuries.

A spokesman for the Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said, “Four firefighters wearing self-contained breathing apparatus used hose reel nozzles to fight the fire.

“Six cylinders were involved in the fire and were being cooled by the crews.

“The scene was then muted and hotspots were searched for with a thermal imaging camera.

“As soon as this was certain, the residents were allowed to return to neighboring properties.

“The crews were on duty for around four hours.”
