Cheshires Andrew Small won the 25th gold medal for Great Britain at the Tokyo Paralympics with an impressive victory over the 100 meter T33.
The 28-year-old wheelchair user from Nantwich got off to a brilliant start and held out the Kuwait Ahmad Almutairi in a time of 17.73 seconds.
Smalls compatriot Harri Jenkins won the bronze medal.
Small finished third in Rio five years ago, admitting it was a long road to Paralympic glory.
“I never expect results, I just go and see what happens and hey-ho, here we are,” he told Channel 4.
“There were a lot of jumps, but you will never have a perfect race in these conditions. The whole atmosphere and the experience sometimes invade you a little.
“It’s been two tough years, there have been a lot of zoom sessions in garages, so I don’t know if I want to see much more of the inside of my garage.”
Another Brit, James Freeman, finished fourth of the five drivers in 19.69 seconds.
