PEOPLE had to be evacuated from their apartment after a fire broke out in an apartment block on Saturday night (July 31).
The Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service dispatched three fire engines to Lintott Gardens just before 9 p.m. after a kitchen fire was reported.
Crews from Warrington, Stockton Heath and Penketh rushed to the scene, and two firefighters wearing respirators were able to enter the property and put out the flames.
They spent several hours on site trying to dispel the smoke and make sure there were no hot spots.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident and everyone in the building was identified and evacuated as a precautionary measure.
A fire department spokesman said: “Firefighters were involved in a fire in an apartment in Lintott Gardens.
“The fire was in the kitchen.
“The crews wore two breathing apparatus and used a hose reel and cover nozzle to extinguish the flames.
“A large fan was used to diffuse the smoke and a thermal camera checked for hot spots.
“Everyone in the building was recorded and evacuated as a precaution.
“Crews were on site for almost four hours.”
