Public Health England (PHE) figures show Wistaston is the only place in Cheshire with fewer than three cases of Covid-19 in the region.

Two weeks ago, CheshireLive reported that there were 30 areas in the region with suppressed Covid rates when the country reopened on Jan.
However, the dramatic increase in Covid cases due to the Delta variant resulted in the government’s roadmap plans being scrapped and “Freedom Day” postponed to July 19 to vaccinate more people and stop the spread.
Public Health England defined a suppressed area as one with fewer than three cases, essentially where the virus is all but eradicated.
The latest numbers give us the infection rate and case numbers for the seven days leading up to June 25th.
Cheshire has seen a spike in Covid cases as it struggles to get a grip on the Delta (Indian) variant.
This week, CheshireLive reported that people living in zip codes starting with CH1 3 and CH1 4 have been asked to have a Covid test as cases increase in the area.
