Obituary: Raymond F. Reilly Jr., 62, Of Wallingford

WALLINGFORD, CT — (From Wallingford Funeral Home): Raymond F. Reilly Jr., 62, of Wallingford, loving husband of Colleen (McNeil) Reilly for 39 years, passed away unexpectedly December 22, 2022 at his home.

Ray was born in Hartford on August 6, 1960, a son of the late Raymond and Beatrice (Galligan) Reilly.

Ray worked for Honeywell as a Regional Sales Manager for over 20 years. He had a very successful career and was awarded many trips around the world in recognition of his accomplishments with the company.

Ray was a very active and devoted member of his church, First Assembly of God in Meriden, serving on the board and as a weekly Sunday School teacher; one of the things Ray was most passionate about was teaching. He was especially proud to preside over his daughter’s and sister’s weddings, as well as many of his children’s friends’ weddings. He was devoted to spending time with his homebound church family, was a proud member of the Gideons, and also spent several years serving in the prison ministry in Cheshire.

Ray was an avid Boston Red Sox fan, loved music such as Bluegrass, Country Rock and Christian music. His family was not only his joy, but was everything to him and he especially loved being with his grandchildren and his dog, Fenway.

In addition to his wife, Colleen, he is survived by his son, Raymond F. Reilly III and his wife, Maureen, of Wallingford; his daughter, Chelsea MacLean and her husband, James, of Meriden; his sisters, Patricia Reilly of Plainville and Barbara Reilly-White of Florida; his brother, Daniel Reilly of South Carolina; his grandchildren; Ellie MacLean and Alannah Reilly; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, John and Michael Reilly.

Ray’s family will receive relatives and friends at The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext., on Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 4 pm until 7 pm His funeral will be held at First Assembly of God Church, 601 Paddock Ave., Meriden on Friday at 10 am. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford.
