The year 2022 is shaping up as a stellar one for the Slieve Russell hotel, golf and country club. Tucked away in the Cavan countryside, outside Ballyconnell, the resort sits on 250 acres of parkland and fronts on to 50 acres of lake.

Tourists are back and, in particular, weddings are back. The five-star hotel is likely to easily surpass the €17 million revenue recorded in 2019.

Its rude health will cheer the special liquidators of IBRC. It is expected that next year the liquidators, Kieran Wallace and Eamonn Richardson of KPMG, will put the property on the market.
