The Bluedot festival has been postponed to 2022 as organizers said the government has refused to step up.

The Bluedot Festival was canceled this year – and postponed to summer 2022.

The organizers hope the event will take place at Jodrell Bank in Cheshire from July 21st to 24th next year.

Last year’s festival, which was supposed to be led by Björk, Groove Armada and Metronomy, was postponed until this year due to restrictions of the coronavirus.

Instead, a three-day virtual festival took place.

Now organizers have said they will have to make the “tough decision” to postpone the music, arts and science festival again.

They said the “government refused to get involved” and provide them with a government-sponsored insurance system.

The organizers also said it was “unacceptable” to change the layout, line-up or weekend, so the “only option” would be to postpone the postponement.

In a post on Facebook, the festival team said: “The challenges of running an event at this point have led us to recently soliciting your feedback, and your suggestions and preferences are an important factor in our decision – you are part of it as well. ” bluedot as an artist, speaker and performer.

“The responses to our survey clearly indicated that compromising your weekend like changing layout or line-up or moving to a new weekend would have been disappointing and unacceptable.

“We’ve been researching these changes to get the best chance of a return.

“After your feedback, it became clear that the only option would have been to host the same festival over the same weekend in order to meet the expectations we, you and our partners share for the festival.

“However, due to the lack of government support to insure events like ours, the risks are too great.

“Despite constant calls from our industry for the past six months, the government has refused to protect us through a government-sponsored insurance system.

“Without a system like this to give us security, the overwhelming risk and high up-front costs for us to keep Bluesed this year are unfortunately just too high.

“As a small independent festival, bluedot remains an easy choice – make unacceptable changes over the weekend and risk the festival’s future, or look to 2022 and start planning our biggest event yet.”

The MEN have turned to the government for an opinion.
